Cool Climate Best Shiraz in Big Red Wine Book!

Campbell Mattinson has reviewed & rated over 1000 red wines in his 2010/11 edition of ‘The Big Red Wine Book’ and Westend are delighted to announce that the ‘Westend Cool Climate Series, Shiraz’has been placed in the ‘TOP 100 RED WINES’. Wine critic Campbell Mattinson teams up with established wine publisher Gary Walsh to share their knowledge on more than 1000 red wines, across all pricesand styles.

The peak body for family businesses, Family Business Australia (FBA) announced Griffith- based winery, Westend Estate Wines as the 2010 winner of the Third Generation category in the NSW & ACT Family Business of the Year Awards for the second consecutive year.

Westend Steals the Competition.

Showcasing the strength of its Riverina portfolio, Westend Estate Wines stole the show on Saturday at the ‘2010 Sydney International Wine Competition’. Among its haul, Westend Estate Wines was awarded ‘The Wine Society Perpetual Trophy for ‘Most Successful Winery or Brand’ and nine outstanding awards.

Australia Day was celebrated with traditional Australian pride yesterday with many communities gathered around the country to honour and recognise those who have over achieved. The Riverina community was no exception, where a large crowd joined at the Pioneer Park Museum for the Annual Australia Day Awards and announced Bill Calabria as the Citizen of the year..

Richland Sauvignon Blanc Beats NZ at their own game.

Westend Estate’s Richland Sauvignon Blanc has made it to the top of the list, coming in equal first, at the recent 2009 Royal Perth Wine Show’. The famous Sauvignon Blanc has claimed the title from well known ‘Marlborough’ and ‘Cool Climate Regions’ Sauvignon Blanc.
